After serving in the military in 1991, I studied in the ship design laboratory of Professor Soo-Young Kim of the Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at Pusan National University. It was there that I first studied how to model ships on a computer. And reading Professor Nowacki’s many papers, I thought that I would like to study under him. And with the help of Professor Soo-Young Kim and KAAD, I had the opportunity to study in Germany. And with the guidance of Professor Nowacki, I was able to study as a Ph.D. The professor gave me a lot of guidance academically, and helped me to receive a scholarship so that I could focus on my studies. When I returned to Korea and worked on ship design at Samsung Heavy Industries and College, Professor Nowacki’s teachings were always with me in my memory. And even now, his academic attitude and life have always been a mentor for me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and I hope you are always healthy.
